Mikel Arteta is having doubts about replacing Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager, according to reports. The 36-year-old is the leading candidate to take the job after holding talks with the Gunners hierarchy last week. But according to the Daily Star, Arteta is having second thoughts about accepting the role after speaking to former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira. The ex-Arsenal captain has also held talks about succeeding Wenger but the Frenchman is claimed to be ‘astounded’ by the lack of control the new manager will have over transfers. And Arteta is now having concerns about Arsenal’s new power structure in which the head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has a huge input in new arrivals.
